The Abigail, is a mixed income 155-unit project with 127 affordable apartments, ranging from studio to three-bedroom apartments, for families earning 30% to 60% of Median Family Income (currently $20,800 to $41,640 for a household of four) and the balance at market-rate rents. Located at the north end of the Pearl District, The Abigail is composed of two six-story buildings linked by a transparent bridge, accessible on every level. The west portion of the building, which faces NW 13th Ave, has a rectangular form, and is clad is in a light brick veneer. The east building, which faces the railroad tracks and the river, is more irregular in form, and is clad in a darker red/brown brick veneer.

The layout of the buildings allows for four distinct outdoor spaces, which present both public and semi-private courtyards. These courtyards function as places for communal events, relaxation, and play. The project features retail and community spaces at ground level and will include a landscaped courtyard, a children’s play area, a community room, laundry rooms on each floor, secure bicycle parking in a tool-equipped bike storage room and underground car parking.
