The new OMSI Coastal Discovery Center at Camp Gray in Newport, Oregon is a 20-acre outdoor year-round science camp and living laboratory, as well as indoor teaching spaces, a dining hall/convening space, and lodging for up to 150 children and families, with plans to serve 90,000 children and families over the next 20 years.

Programming at the CDC will include residential camps for children and families taught by professional educators in the rich learning environment of Oregon’s Central Coast.  From dune ecology and ocean observing to exploration of wave energy generation technologies and the sustainable fishing industry, the OMSI Coastal Discovery Center will augment and support the community’s marine education, ocean observing and economic development strategies.
