Tree-lined streets, peaceful parks and gracious Northwest-inspired dwellings energize the community. The project involved complete removal, deconstruction and/or demolition of the existing infrastructure and 10 residential buildings. New roadway construction was part of the project. Thirteen new two- and three-story buildings feature a combination of flats and townhouses.

Humboldt Gardens transformed the former Iris Court housing development in Northeast Portland into a mix of 130 apartments, a Neighborhood Network Center, Head Start Center, Community Policing contact office, and a management office.

Goals for the percentage of Minority, Women and Emerging Small Business (MWESB) participation on the project were surpassed. Home Forward set a goal of 20%, while 41% participation was achieved. In addition, a total of 23% apprenticeship hours (target 20%) was achieved; and the goal of 30 Section 3 hires was surpassed, with a total of 38 hires.
