The United Carriage Building was a 40,000 SF seismic upgrade and renovation, including underpinnings, of a 100-year old office building. Built as a post-and-beam structure, the remodel was completed while the upper floors were fully occupied. High-end interior finishes include a radius steel staircase with ornamental railings, exposed beams and a 16,000 SF museum-quality exhibit area for the latest Columbia Sportswear products. The Northwest ambiance is emphasized with stone and wood floors and several 25’ tall upright peeled Douglas Fir trees.

WALSH has maintained a relationship with Columbia Sportswear for over 13 years, successfully completing over 290,000 SF of high-end remodels, tenant improvements and historic rehabilitations. Other project experience includes renovation of the Columbia Sportswear Flagship store and the Mountain Hardwear store, as well as retail outlets in Park City, UT, Portland and Lake Oswego, OR.

Mt. Hardwear: This occupied tenant improvement included two stories of high-end retail space in a historic building. The 4,000 SF commercial space was created on a tight urban site with select demolition of walls, ramps, stairs, landings and doors. New lighting, electrical, HVAC, concrete slabs, finishes were installed and the new space features a new storefront canopy.
