WALSH has developed a unique and thorough Building Performance Program that provides clients with an extremely valuable benefit – a building that is built to be durable, low-maintenance and of high value – through thoughtful consideration of the client’s needs and goals.
Our Building Performance Department works in conjunction with our project managers and superintendents to address specific quality assurance issues and activities.
This comprehensive quality initiative is dedicated to communicating the smartest approach to design and construction challenges, to working with the design team to determine the best solutions to the client’s goals, and to executing those solutions precisely in the field.
WALSH Building Performance Department
WALSH has a well-established Building Performance Program which includes a staff of licensed architects and highly trained field personnel dedicated to our quality control activities.
There is no substitution for diligence in the field; we have a strong system in place that produces outstanding results. Our teams have the authority to direct field personnel and subcontractors in product installation and detail review. Our field staff are authorized to stop installation of building envelope items if they see errors in product sequence or installation.
Most water intrusion problems occur at transition areas between dissimilar materials. We look very carefully at these details and work with the design team to find appropriate solutions. Our quality process is extremely thorough.
To ensure proper performance, prior to installation we create mock-ups of the building envelope system and thoroughly test them. But we don’t stop there: we also test the building envelope after installation using thermal imaging technology, which measures performance in terms of thermal bridging and air-tightness.
Beginning during the design phase and continuing through warranty, each project team seeks quality design and construction solutions that meet the clients’ needs in the most cost-effective manner.
