The 12-story Framework, whose construction in Portland, Oregon gets started in February, will be made primarily with CLT. To meet seismic objectives, the building will include a lateral-force resisting system with post-tensioned rocking wood shear walls, pioneered in New Zealand.
In November, Framework’s fully loaded exposed CLT and glulam connections were the first to achieve two-hour fire ratings.
