Another Successful WALSH Building Science Seminar

Excellent information and presentations at the WALSH Building Science Seminar put together by General Manager Mike Steffen. Held in Seattle, Washington on June 7th and Portland, Oregon on June 8th over 300+ attendees learned about “Taking Buildings to Low Energy & Beyond” as well as “Taking Wood to the Next Level.”

During the morning, presenters focused on low-energy/net-zero energy buildings and embodied energy and life cycle considerations in building structures, while in the afternoon discussions included the new trajectory of advanced wood construction including important considerations such as movement, durability and efficiency. The day closed with case studies in mass timber architecture, technology and design.

Thank you to presenters Ralph DiNola and Cathy Higgins of New Buildings Institute, Mike Steffen of WALSH, Frances Yang of Arup, Graham Finch of RDH Building Sciences, Joseph Mayo of Mahlum and Martin Houston of WALSH! Excellent work by all.
