Sharon Libby, Quality Assurance Manager for WALSH Seattle, presented at the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild’s event “What Sticks to What? Sealants, Adhesives, Tapes & IAQ” on March 23, 2016.
Sharon presented the findings from her comprehensive study of exterior sealants and shared some of her insights and experiences on high-performance building enclosures. There were also other speakers and a demo on how to install caulking in the hour-glass profile (sealing between window and frame) with proper proportions.
Over 150 attendees learned about how to choose the right products and essential information for proper installations, why it’s important not to use products after expiration dates, how right products can be used for air and water sealing and other uses, how to judge products for best indoor use for healthy homes, and innovations in this important area that deserves more attention.
