The sons and daughters of Walsh Construction Co. employees learned about the construction industry Thursday with their participation in the company’s Take Your Child to Work Day. At the firm’s office in Southwest Portland, kids learned about estimating, job safety, and heavy equipment before building their own birdhouses.
Later in the day, they toured the Grant Park Village site in Northeast Portland to get a firsthand look at how buildings are constructed.
