Walsh Construction Co. and Spectrum Development Solutions broke ground this week on Anthem on 12th, located on 12th Ave and East Yesler Way. Anthem on 12th will be the first private development of the larger Yesler Terrace neighborhood revitalization. The six-story 118,000 square foot transit-oriented residential project consists of 120 apartments with 4,000 square feet of ground floor commercial space.
Although the majority of the apartments will be rented at market-rate, twenty-five percent of the apartments will be made available to households earning 80 percent or less of area median income (AMI). The project is working with SHA to achieve the goal of filling 100 percent of new construction-related jobs created by the project with individuals earning less than 80 percent AMI. The apartment mix will be comprised of studio, one and two bedroom apartments and is targeting LEED Silver Certification.
Spectrum Development Solutions anticipates lease-up in the Spring of 2015.
